Have you ever had one of those days when you question how you are doing as a mother? I recently noticed that my 3 year old daughter, Delaney, was making a clicking sound to get my attention because I obviously did not hear her the first or probably second time she called for me. It’s in those moments that I try to take a deep breath and give her a big hug and tell her just how much I love her.
I love this quote, “There is no one perfect way to be a good mother. Each situation is unique. Each mother has different challenges, different skills and abilities, and certainly different children…. What matters that a mother loves her children deeply”, by Elder M. Russel Ballard.
So if you are having one of those days as a mother where you don’t feel good enough, give yourself a break and remember that a little love goes a long way. The key is recognizing it and doing the best you can in that moment and hopefully doing better going forward. I know I have days where I am a better mom than other days but I know for the most part, I have more good days than bad days and on the days where maybe I’m not at my best, I try to give a little extra love.
Ps- if you need to get someone’s attention, try the clicking sound. It works.
