One of the Best and Most Thoughtful Gifts
On my last birthday, I got one of the best and most thoughtful motivational gifts from two of my daughters. Molly (14) and Delaney (5) worked together and handed me a bunch of envelopes that I was instructed to open when appropriate. They know I love to motivate and inspire them and they blew me away when they gave this to me. This helped me and figured this could be great motivation for moms.
As a Mom, sometimes I am tired (ok, basically all the time), and sometimes I need motivation. Intrinsic motivation is not always working for me. I know that most Moms feel the same so I wanted to share what one of my envelopes was and how this was incredible motivation for me when I needed it. Read on if you want some Motivation for Moms (or really anyone)!
If you are a Mom, You Are a Superhero!
First off, please know that if you are a Mom, you already are a superhero with super powers. Our kids know that, why don’t we always know that?!? My daughter writes representing all kids everywhere, “You are mom and that means you can do anything.” Sometimes, it is good to just read that and hear that and really take it in. Yes, I can do anything! So can you! Say it again, aloud. Moms need motivation too.
You’ve Accomplished So Much So Far
The other valid point the kids make is to look back on everything that you’ve accomplished so far. I know for me that I don’t always pat myself on the back and celebrate all that I have accomplished or gotten through. It is important to do that especially when you are in a slump because that will pull you up and out of it and get you motivated. Some motivational quotes don’t hurt either. Read on!
You are Loved
There is nothing sweeter than knowing you are loved and your kids think you are great. I am definitely a girl that loves her inspirational sayings and they do help me with motivation. If these quotes resonated with you, print some of your favorite ones off and hang them on a vision board, on your wall, in your kitchen or by your computer. And remember that if you are feeling like you are in a slump, remember to look back on all you have accomplished (raising kids is a huge job and huge accomplishment, just saying) and celebrate that. Want to do more? Take baby steps today (right now) and you will get to where you want by moving forward. Just start, don’t overthink it and I promise you will feel better and get motivated!
Here are those inspirational and motivational quotes again:
- I am too positive to be doubtful, too optimistic to be fearful and too determined to be defeated
- Strive for progress, not perfection
- Mistakes are proof that you are trying
- I love You, You are Great
- Do Something Today that Your Future Self Will Thank You For
- You can’t have a good day with a bad attitude, and you can’t have a bad day with a good attitude
- I don’t make excuses, I make results
- You are a Mom and that means you can do anything!
- We believe in you!
